ACT! Menu Items Do Not Work In Microsoft® Word After Updating to 9.0.1

You are creating a new or modifying an existing ACT! template in Microsoft Word and find that the Act! menu items do not work.

Solution:

Running the following arguments from the command prompt will correct this issue. Please use the one of the two methods described below to resolve this issue.

Method One:
    1. Close ACT!
    2. Right-click the 901fix.cmd file below, and then click Save Target As from the shortcut menu. A Save As dialog box appears.

    3. Click the drop-down arrow at the Save in field, browse to your Windows Desktop, (do not rename this file), and then click Save.
    4. Double click on the 901fix.cmd file to run it.
    5. Launch Act!

Method Two:
    1. Close ACT!
    2. Click the Windows® Start button, and then click Run . The Run dialog box appears.
    3. Type cmd in the Open field, and then click OK .
    4. If not at the " C:\ > " prompt type c: and then press the Return key. Otherwise type cd\ and then press the Return key to change to the root of the "C" drive.

    5. Change to the following directory C:\Program Files\ACT\ACT for Windows .
    Note:
    This will only work if ACT! is installed in the default installation directory described above.
    6. Type in the following commands in the order they appear. Press the Return key after each command. (Ensure to include the capitalizations and the quotation marks ).

    Regasm "C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows\Act.Office.Addin.dll" /codebase "C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows\Act.Office.Addin.dll"


    Regasm "C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows\ActOutlookAddin.dll" /codebase "C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows\ActOutlookAddin.dll"


    Regasm "C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows\Act.Framework.interop.dll" /codebase "C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows\Act.Framework.interop.dll"


    Regasm "C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows\Act.Application.Interop.dll" /codebase "C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows\Act.Application.Interop.dll"


    When each is completed successfully you will see a similar DOS window stating
    Types Registered Successfully :


    7. Type Exit to close the DOS window, and then launch ACT!.
